whether the definition of 'banking company' contained in Section 5(c) of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 (for short, ‘the BR Act, 1949’) covers cooperative banks registered under the State law and also multi­State co­operative societies under the Multi­State Co­operative Societies Act, 2002 (for short, 'the MSCS Act'). Consequently, (i) whether cooperative banks at State and multi­State level are co­operative banks within the purview of the SARFAESI Act ? and (ii) whether provisions of the SARFAESI Act apply to the co­operative banks registered under the MSCS Act ?- in Greater Bombay Coop.
